How many porta potties do I need?
Plan 1 standard porta potty per 50 guests for an event of up to 4 hours. Add 1 unit for every 5 when alcohol is served. A job site needs at least 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51. We suggest 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service.
Worked example
A 150-guest graduation party running 5 hours needs 4 units. Beer and wine add 1 more, so plan 5. Make 1 of those 5 wheelchair-accessible. Add 2 hand wash stations for the food tables.

What should Frankfort renters plan for before delivery?
Frankfort renters should plan for four local things: Kentucky River low ground, city permits for public property, summer heat and winter freezes, and steep or narrow streets. Each one changes where the unit goes or how often it is serviced. Sort them out on the first call and delivery day goes smoothly.
Keep units off river low ground
The Kentucky River crested at 48.27 feet at Frankfort in April 2025, the second-highest on record. Units near River View Park, Second Street or Benson Creek should sit on the highest firm ground. Spring rain also softens yards, so we may place on a driveway edge instead.
Events on city property need a permit
Festivals, races and street closures on city property or the right-of-way need a City of Frankfort special event permit. Apply before you lock in a unit count. A unit on your own private property needs no permit. Read our Frankfort event permit restroom guide.
Heat in July, freezes in January
Frankfort averages highs near 88°F in July and lows near 25°F in January. Busy summer sites should add a second weekly service. From November through March we add non-toxic antifreeze at each service. See winter porta potty tips.
Steep drives and narrow streets
South Frankfort, Bellepoint and the hills around Fort Hill have narrow streets and steep driveways. The delivery truck needs a firm path about 10 feet wide. If the yard is out of reach, we set the unit at the top of the drive or along the curb on your property.
Porta potty rental questions from Frankfort customers
These are the questions Frankfort renters ask before they book. Prices are starting prices; your quote lists every charge on its own line.
How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Frankfort?
A standard porta potty for a party or weekend event starts at $165. A job site unit starts at $185 per 28-day cycle, and that price includes weekly service. ADA units start at $245, flushing units with a sink at $275, hand wash stations at $125 and 2-stall restroom trailers at $895. Delivery and pickup are priced by ZIP and shown as their own line on your quote. See the full porta potty rental cost guide.
Can you deliver a porta potty today?
Same-day delivery is open across Frankfort and nearby towns when you call by 12 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Farther towns need the call by 10 a.m. A same-day rush adds a fee that starts at $75, and the quote shows it on its own line. Calls after the cutoff get next-day delivery. Read how same-day porta potty delivery works.
My party is on Saturday. When do you drop it off and pick it up?
Weekend party units usually arrive Friday and get picked up Monday, at no extra charge. That timing keeps the truck out of your driveway while guests are there. Saturday morning drop-off is also available if your venue only allows day-of delivery. Tell us the time guests arrive so the unit is set well before then.
Is delivery included in the price?
Delivery and pickup are a separate line on every quote, priced by the ZIP code where the unit goes. The delivery fee is charged once per order, not once per unit. Ordering three units to one address costs one trip, not three. Nothing else gets added after you book.
Do I need to be home when the porta potty is delivered?
Being home is not required for delivery. Mark the spot with a cone, chalk or a note, and give us any gate code when you book. The driver sets the unit on level ground the truck can reach and texts you a photo when it is placed.
Does the porta potty come with toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
Every unit arrives cleaned, deodorized and stocked with toilet paper and a hand sanitizer dispenser. Standard units also have a urinal, a mirror and a coat hook. Flushing units add a foot-pump sink with soap and paper towels. Long rentals get restocked at every weekly service.
How does billing work if I keep a unit for a few months?
Long-term rentals bill every 28 days, and the price is the same each cycle except the first one. The first cycle also carries the one-time delivery charge. Weekly service is included. Call or text when the work is done, and billing stops after we pick the unit up.
Can I cancel if the weather turns bad?
Event orders cancel with a full refund up to 48 hours before delivery. Date changes are free with 24 hours' notice, as long as a unit is open on the new date. Our rental terms list the full cancellation policy.
Do I need a permit to put a porta potty in Frankfort?
A unit on your own private property needs no permit in Frankfort. Events on city property, city streets or sidewalks need a City of Frankfort special event permit, and that permit covers your restroom plan. Ask your HOA or venue about their own rules too.
Will a porta potty smell in the summer heat?
Odor builds faster when Frankfort highs reach the upper 80s in July. Every unit gets a deodorizer charge at delivery and at each service. Busy job sites or long summer events should add a second weekly service. Placing the unit in shade, away from where people eat, helps a lot.
